The Provincial Government of Bataan, through the Provincial Information Office (PIO) concluded its first short filmmaking competition today, April 4, at The Bunker.
Aptly themed “Liwanag at Pag-asa: Mga Kwento ng Bataeno sa Gitna ng Pandemya” 42 Bataeños from the 11 municipalities and lone city expressed their intention to take part in the competition.
Aimed at highlighting stories of courage, survival, and healing of Bataeños and serve as inspiration and encouragement to others during the pandemic, 10 entries made it to the shortlist.
After a thorough review and screening, the following are the films that made it to the Top 3: 1st place – P50,000 “Dungaw” by Michael Angelo Cervantes 2nd place – P30,000 “Saludo, Bataeno” by Harold De Leon 3rd place – P20,000 “Sangkap” by Michael Gabriel Sanchez Audience Choice Award – P10,000 “Dungaw” by Michael Angelo Cervantes.
Finalists who did not make it to the top 3 will each receive a consolation prize of P5,000.
Mr. Gabriel Jessie Guevarra, one of the judges, said that he is looking forward to more filmmaking platforms rising in the Province of Bataan.
